CAD Drafting

Accompanying our engineering services is our CAD (Computer-Aided Design) drafting offering. Our designers and draftsmen have years of experience with a variety of CAD software and projects. Although the primary CAD software we utilize in-house is AutoCAD Electrical, there is almost no CAD program that is in existence today that we can't work with. Although we prefer to provide a turn-key solution to our customers that includes drafting, our CAD services can be utilized at anytime when a full blown project is not ongoing. Lately, we have seen customers taking advantage of the conversions from manual (hand-drawn) to CAD and as-built services, which in turn provides the plant's maintenance staff with up-to-date prints that are available at anytime electronically.

Control Panels

ProgTech Asia offers complete turn-key panel design, fabrication, and testing. Our panels are built by us at our Modesto facility using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques. Whether your company needs just a simple enclosed motor starter or an elaborate PLC-based control system inside of a NEMA 4X stainless steel two-door enclosure, we can provide it at very competitive pricing and without sacrificing quality. All of our panels use UL-listed components, and UL508A approval is available upon request for an additional fee.

All of our panels go through the same process in order to keep consistency and to ensure that the customer receives the correct final product. The following is an outline of this process:

1.Preliminary Design

- Upon commencement of the a new project, a preliminary design of the panel will begin. As many of our projects are unique to the customer, the customer's involvement at this time may or may not be necessary.

2.Initial Conceptual Layout

- Once an initial design takes place, a preliminary Bill of Materials is produced and the task of laying out the panel can begin. A "conceptual" layout is produced using AutoCAD and submitted to the customer for final approval. Additional work is on hold until this step is completed as it can become quite a task to change the layout once components are put into place.

3.Electrical Schematic Drawings

- Electrical schematics are produced for approval prior to wiring all of the panel components. This gives the customer a chance to review the proposed wiring scheme and whether or not changes must be made to fit the desired control strategy.

4.Panel Fabrication

- During this process, the customer may or may not need to be involved. It is up to the customer whether or not he/she would like to come by our facility to ensure that the panel is being fabricated according to the agreed upon specifications (this is highly recommended by ProgTech Asia).

5.Final In-House Testing

- This process can eliminate a great deal of headaches prior to the control panel being commissioned in the field. We perform a complete point-to-point I/O check, power up all components to verify working condition, and where PLC/HMI components are involved, the configuraton/programming is loaded and tested in a simulation environment. Typically, we ask our customers to come by our facility at this time to ensure that the final product meets their requirements.

5.Delivery and Commissioning of Panel

- Once the panel has been approved for delivery, it is shipped to the end-user's site and installed by others. After the installation, ProgTech Asia offers field commissioning of the control panel to ensure that it performs the same as it did when it left our facility. This is not always necessary, but it is strongly suggested.
Since all control panel requirements are different from customer to customer, we require an initial consultation (which is free) so that we may gather information that will be useful during our proposal phase.

Startup Support

As part of a turn-key project or on an "as needed" basis, ProgTech Asia provides startup assistance when it is time for a project to come online. This support could be in the form of PLC/HMI programming to repair bugs during the startup phase, or it could involve an electrician to be on standby just in case this service is necessary. Either way, ProgTech Asia can provide experienced startup personnel that will be able to assist in a professional manner during this critical phase of a project.

Training

ProgTech Asia offers onsite and offsite training for both maintenance and operations personnel. While part of a turn-key project, ProgTech Asia can provide training at any time with custom training offerings available. Some of our custom training includes:
